Växbo mill and the Troll Valley
Authentic mill environment with idyllic buildings and a small millpond. Nearby, there's an old flax processing facility with factory sales. On the premises, you'll find exhibitions and a shop featuring crafts, pottery, and a blacksmith workshop. There's also a café and bakery, as well as the acclaimed gourmet restaurant Växbo Krog, which focuses on local ingredients.
Växbo Café, in addition to offering a "regular" selection of pastries and treats, produces and serves their own gelato, which is incredibly delicious and highly appreciated by visitors throughout the summer. The café is located in Växbo's old country store.
Växbo Krog is a gourmet restaurant in a fantastic setting, with a focus on modern Swedish cuisine and locally sourced ingredients. There's also Växbo Logen, the pottery studio, and the blacksmith workshop.
Across the road lies Trolldalen, a beautiful little valley with small log houses and a flax processing facility. Here, you can experience how flax was processed in the past. The waterwheels at the scutching mill and the hackle frame are set in motion during guided tours. Take a stroll in the scenic surroundings and visit Växbo Bageri, where bread is baked on their own stone hearths. High-quality pastries are served in the cozy cottage or on the outdoor terrace.
Within walking distance, you'll find Växbo Lin, one of the few remaining linen weavers in Sweden. Witness the ongoing production, experience the history of linen, and make great finds in the well-stocked factory shop. Factory tours are available daily during the month of July.
